Professor Richard Schilling
Director of the London AF Centre
Richard Schilling established the London AF centre 12 years ago. He has specialised in AF ablation since 1998 and had the privilege of being involved in the evolution and development of AF ablation since its inception.
He helped establish two patient charities, the Arrhythmia Alliance and the Atrial Fibrillation Association, and served as their Medical Director. He also has served as the President of the British Heart Rhythm Association.
He has previously been the Director for Research and Director for Strategy and Commercial for Barts Hospital.
He is now the chair of Rhythm-AI a San Diego based company that is commercialising an invention he helped create at St Bartholomew’s Hospital
His published research is wide ranging but has focused on improving outcomes and safety of catheter ablation.
He is also a pilot with a commercial license and instrument rating and crew resource management accreditation and the safety culture learning and experience has been introduced into his medical practice.
